must have mac apps

At first I was going to write about another great mac applications I was using. Then I found a blog post from VinodLive.com which was just as good as it gets in compiling free software for the mac. (and some has a PC version as well)

A few software that I found a lot of use are

Jing - record your screen action - It’s free for both Mac and Pc version.
AppDelete - uninstaller for the Mac
Quicksilver - of course, I can’t live without this great app anymore.

I’ve been looking for something like AppDelete…why the hell didn’t Apple include a usable package manager with OS X? I mean come one now, it’s freaking 10.5 now. Geez.

Quicksilver is a given. For Linux users Gnome Do is a good replacement.

I can see the usefulness of Jing for use it making tutorials (or just helping a friend out) by showing just how something is done.

I’d like to add that Xslimmerhttp://www.xslimmer.com/ is great for cutting the fat out of those universal binaries.

Also, don’t forget DataRescue II for your data retrieval needs.

As for bittorrent clients, Azureus is just to bloated for me. I kind of like Transmission (http://www.transmissionbt.com/). It kind reminds me of uTorrent (in the way it functions, not the way it looks) and it integrates well into the OS X theme.
